Online Therapy

Online Therapy and Psychology

We understand that sometimes it is not possible for all of our clients to come and meet us in one of our offices. This may be as they live too far away, for health reasons, or due to practical circumstances. We therefore aim to work flexibly with each client’s circumstances and offer online assessment and online therapy in a number of different ways.  This includes face-to-face appointments via secure video link (similar to skype) as well as telephone appointments.

We appreciate that for many people using this technology may seem a little daunting and we can provide you with step by step instructions on setting up a secure video link, should you require this.

There is now a growing body of research to suggest that online therapy, sometimes referred to as telemedicine, telemental health (TMH) or telepsychology, can be an effective intervention for a range of mental health difficulties in adults and young people. Our flexible approach means that we can offer a combination of appointments held online alongside appointments in our clinic rooms to suit each individual client’s needs.

If you are interested in finding out more about an online assessment or online therapy, please get in touch via the contact page. It is usually best for us to hear a little more about the kind of help you are looking for, before deciding whether this approach is likely to be helpful.

Please note that although it may be possible to offer screening for potential autism spectrum condition by video call, we do not currently offer full autism assessments in this way.
